Fabulous location and beautiful neighborhood. Very walkable to all the sites we wanted to see.

The place was greasy to stay in. Everything we needed was provided. Instructions were clear. The stairs were tricky to navigate. Maya’s communication was great and she was lovely to communicate with.

Very beautiful home. Extremely comfortable. Very close to train station, made transportation very easy. It was very quiet surroundings.

Toshino-San made our stay so special, her smile and happiness was infectious!!! 7 minutes from lots transportation options in a wonderful neighborhood for walking and explore. Highly recommend this despite heading my head multiple times as a 6’2” person. The concussion risks were worth the experience.

고풍스러운 느낌이 잘 묻어나서 일본식 숙소에서 묵어보고 싶다 하면 추천함. 숙소에서 지내면서 필요한 모든게 준비되어 있어 부족한 점이 없었음. 다만 2층으로 올라가는 계단이 매우 가파르다는 점과 자다가 화장실 가고 싶으면 그 계단을 내려가야 한다는 단점이 있음. 미닫이 문이 굉장히 많은데 잘 닫고 다니지 않으면 굉장히 추우므로 주의하길. 역이나 유명 관광지로부터 그리 멀지 않은 위치이나 주택들이 모여있는 곳이기 때문에 골목길이 헷갈릴 수 있음.(구글맵 사용 추천) 그나마 큰 도로 바로 옆이라 택시타기엔 유리했음. 가격과 시설을 고려했을때 4인이 가장 적절해보임. 주인분도 매우 친절하시니 호텔이 지겨우면 매우 추천함.

Très bel hébergement, on s'y sent comme à la maison. Yoko nousi avait même mis des fraises dans le frigos, très gentille attention de sa part. L'arrêt de bus est vraiment très près de la maison et permet de rejoindre le métro ou la gare très rapidement. Un super séjour, tout était parfait!!! Merci Yoko.

Mayumi’s place is a very charming “machiya” style home with authentic Japanese features. Our host was very helpful, attentive, and quick to respond to any questions. The pictures perfectly represent the home and we found it to be in very good condition. The location was great - the peace and quiet of a residential neighborhood while still being very close to the train (5 min), a grocery store (12-15 min), and a short taxi to Kyoto Station. I would definitely stay here again!

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour. Le logement était assez spacieux pour quatre, très propre et bien équipé. Le quartier était très calme et proche du métro et de bus.

We stayed in a ryokan - it's very different to a traditional hotel and was exactly what we envisaged it to be - it was well located for the local buses and a 7 minute walk to the subway with one stop to Kyoto station - very friendly host and all facilities covered in an A4 binder in English for those not fluent in Japanese - as a bonus the wifi was usefully powerful - would go again if our travels took us this way in the future.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour chez Kitano. Le logement possède un intérieur traditionnel raffiné et dispose du plus grand confort. Nous avons également apprécié la proximité des bus qui nous ont permis d'atteindre les lieux touristiques de Kyoto. Le quartier est résidentiel et agréable. Des commerces sont à proximité.

Our host is very kind. We arrived hours later than we originally told him, however he waited patiently for us at his home with big smiles. He was outside while we arrived, helped us to bring in our luggage, showing us around. Next day he texted us to see how we were doing and offered to help. The house is so beautiful in traditional Japanese house. Beautiful woodwork. Like we were in a Geisha movie. Nice welcome gifts were awaiting us, teas, coffee, creamer, sugar, noodles… The house is very close to train station and many supermarkets. We easily cooked a few seafood and wagyu dinners with nicely furnished kitchen.

This house is located in a fantastic location, only a 6 min walk from the nearest station. Shiho, the host, was very accommodating. She greeted us as we arrived and gave a house tour. She also asked how we were going and made sure everyone was okay, something that is rarely done for Airbnb hosts. Everything in the house was clean and organised, the beds and futons were comfortable, and overall we had a great time staying at this place.

We loved our stay in this Airbnb! So perfectly located in the center of all we wanted to see. Walkable distance to many things or cheap taxi ride. The wash room was so cute! We just loved the wallpaper and that it had a nice shower and bath. Every night I walked to the local onsen alone late at night and felt totally safe. Restaurants close by were delicious. I highly recommend the ramen shop on the same street. The sleeping mats were very comfortable and the home quite warm and shower as well. We really appreciated the guide books which we used to find the best spots for cherry blossoms. Thank you so much for easy instructions and a comfortable stay! We would love to return again.

Amazing location, the house looks exactly as displayed and the host was a great communicator and welcoming. Such a cool spot. I highly recommend staying here if you ever get the chance to visit Kyoto.

Yuri and Hori’s guest house offers an authentic experience in Kyoto. The house truly gives you the feeling of living in a quaint home inside of the city. Situated near a large train station (5min walk), the location is great. As far as communication goes, Yuri and Hori are proactive, kind, and welcoming hosts. I wholeheartedly recommend staying here!

Kiraku’s place was just as described. I love the traditional house with a modern style. Kiraku’s was always super responsive and helpful.

在住宅区的安静日式民宿。庭院真的非常非常漂亮，前台入住便利，我住在一楼的单人房间，其他客人在晚上都保持了安静，旅馆店主非常友善，一次非常不错的入住体验。

Séjour inoubliable dans ce logement. Le cadre est magnifique, et nous avons par ailleurs été extrêmement bien accueillis par une équipe aux petits soins. Sans aucun doute le point fort de notre séjour à Kyoto. Merci encore.

Albeit brief, this was my favorite stay of my entire Japan trip. The hosts were incredibly friendly and always proactive in making sure we felt at home not just in our accommodation but also in Kyoto and the lovely and peaceful neighborhood the townhome resides in. They made sure to follow up every question we had and made sure we were able to travel and make our next destination smoothly. We had some stressful travel beforehand, but they were extremely flexible in made our trip much easier. Also their cute daily breakfast was delicious and every single room had so much personality. It has a shared common space and bathroom but it never felt inconvenient and also allows you to get a one of a kind experience in Kyoto. The price was also incredibly reasonable and a great value. I look forward to returning next time I’m in town!

Our stay at Yamashita’s beautiful 100-year-old Japanese villa in Kyoto was the perfect way to end our 2 week vacation in Japan. The house is spacious, very clean, and well-equipped, perfect for our group of 12. It has everything you need and more. It has a serene garden, jacuzzi, and sauna—the kids especially loved the jacuzzi! Yamashita is an EXCEPTIONAL host—very warm, helpful, and accommodating. She drove us to supermarkets and places we wanted to go and even picked us up for a small fee. She prepared simple yet delicious breakfasts. She was quick to respond to messages and even guided us on using local buses. Though the house is a bit far from the touristy areas, the peace and quiet of Yamashita’s home made it the perfect retreat. It offered a more authentic and relaxing experience of Japan. I highly recommend Yamashita’s villa to anyone looking for comfort, culture, and outstanding hospitality. And to anyone looking for a truly memorable stay in a traditional Japanese home.

What a beautiful traditional Japanese home to stay We totally loved the old house, beautiful decorations, the inner courtyard and our room. Everything was perfect! Chieri is a great host, we felt very welcomed and home right away. We were on a road trip, so we also enjoyed that we could wash our clothes. And we tried out the traditional japanese bath. Perfect! Chieri, thank you for everything! Hope to see you someday again!

The home was stunning, the pictures don’t do the room or the garden justice! And the host was lovely. I had a great stay.

I planned a trip to Kyoto with a classic B&B vibe in mind and while there was no opportunity to eat all together, Tsukiya was perfect! Location was exactly where we wanted to be in the city, with easy access to public transit and even walkable areas. The breakfasts every morning were thoughtfully crafted starting about 2 hours beforehand. The space was authentic - highly recommend to anyone going to Kyoto!

We loved the place, it’s a wonderful experience. The host was so nice and accommodating, super friendly! It felt very authentic.
